In 2004, he founded JAS Construction Inc, a general contractor focusing on multifamily construction and renovation throughout the United States. After completing the new construction or substantial renovation of more than 10,000 units and $150,000,000, Jason decided to merge with Associated Estates Realty Corporation (NYSE: AEC).
Jason joined Associated Estates in 2009, serving as the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development where he built a national development team focused on California, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Florida and Ohio. His responsibilities spanned all aspects of new development and construction activities, from land procurement to design and entitlements. Under his leadership, Associated Estates achieved remarkable growth, developing over $1 billion in properties and acquiring an additional $1 billion in existing assets between 2009 and 2015.
In 2015, Associated Estates was acquired by Brookfield Asset Management for more than $2.5 billion. After the sale of Associated Estates, Jason founded JA Friedman Capital. Following five years of dedication and rapid expansion, JA Friedman Capital gave rise to Addison Properties, a subsidiary company specializing in multifamily and land development.
With over two decades of experience in buying and building properties across multiple states, Jason continues to shape the landscape of the real estate industry with his commitment to excellence and innovation.
Jason enjoys spending time with his family including his wife, daughter, and son, traveling around the world, golfing, fishing and being outdoors. He is committed to supporting multiple charities including The Jewish Federation and the local Jewish Community. Jason is also supportive of the Urban Land Institute, National Multi Housing Council, and the BIA of Central Ohio.
With over 25 years of experience, Jason Friedman’s career in the real estate business began after he graduated from Auburn University in 1998. Jason joined the real estate consulting division at Price Waterhouse Cooper, where he gained invaluable insights while conducting mass appraisals nationwide.
